The Castle of Crossed Destinies
A Collaboration with Leonor Serrano Rivas
This performance piece, inspired by Italo Calvino’s work of the same name, unfolds in five acts, each based on a tarot card. It originated during the filming of The Dream Follows the Mouth (of the One Who Interprets It) (2018), created by the artist at the Swiss Church in London, as a reinterpretation of the film itself. The work reflects Serrano Rivas’s ongoing interest in reimagining the boundaries between the audience and the artwork. Here, the spectator is no longer a passive observer but becomes an accomplice, actively participating in a sequence of interconnected actions across different spaces and times, exploring the possibility of constructing an ever-evolving narrative.
